(Licensed)PSG vs. Atalanta: Preview

PSG has reached the UCL quarterfinal, a feat which had not yet been accomplished in the time Neymar has been in Paris. The Parisians may have some very tough competition in an attacking Atalanta team. Yet, they’re on the side of the bracket with three other teams who have not won this competition.

Consider the other side of the bracket. It includes five-time winners Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as well as English juggernaut Manchester City. The truncated format makes this the best opportunity a talent-heavy PSG has to become champions since Qatar Sports Investments acquired the team in 2011.

Atalanta will seek to continue its Cinderella story, playing in its first Champions League. Prior to this season, Atalanta had six appearances in second-tier European tournaments over more than 50 years. Even if Atalanta crashes out here, it’s coming back to UCL next year by virtue of a solid Serie A finish.

Atalanta has a thrilling, aggressive style of play which got the club 98 goals in Serie A this season, 17 more than the next closest club. In a 90-minute matchup on a neutral field, don’t expect Atalanta and manager Gian Piero Gasperini to change how they’ve played. Look for this to be a high-scoring affair no matter what the result.

How to stream Champions League matches with CBS Sports Network, Galavision, and TUDN

CBS will carry select matches on CBS Sports Network, including the final. (Though, if you want to watch both semifinal matches, you will need to spring for CBS All Access, or watch on Galavision or TUDN, which will carry select matches throughout.) Here’s how to stream it.

Hulu Live TV

Hulu Live TV is a great way to stream live TV, as it comes with access to Hulu’s massive library of on-demand content. You’ll be able to choose from movies, shows, and Hulu’s original programming, and keep up with what’s new each month. Hulu plans even include a bundle option where you can access Disney+ and ESPN+ along with Hulu.

Hulu Live TV sets you up with local channels and has a broad spectrum of entertainment and sports channels to review, including the full suite of ESPN channels, Cartoon Network, FX, HGTV, and even deep cuts like National Geographic and Syfy. CBS Sports Network is also part of the Hulu channels list.

FuboTV started as a streaming service geared toward sports fans, but it’s evolved into a broadly-appealing option with entertainment and news options alongside its robust sports choices. Depending on the package, you can access as many as 180+ FuboTV channels. If you’re looking to be entertained, Bravo, IFC, MTV, and VH1 are options even at Fubo’s most basic tier. The Fubo channel list still includes plenty of sports, including the Fubo Sports Network, which has original programming mixing sports and humor. The FuboTV cost starts at $54.99 a month, and with Disney Media favorites like ABC, ESPN, and the Disney Channel now on board, some who were on the fence about Fubo are giving it another look.

Every English-language FuboTV package, including Fubo Standard, gets you CBS Sports Network, and all Fubo packages bring you TUDN. Galavision, where you’ll find Juventus vs. Lyon on Friday and Bayern vs. Chelsea on Saturday, is part of the Ultra plan.

If you’re already looking to AT&T for your wireless needs, you might consider AT&T TV Now to cover streaming for you. AT&T TV Now channels start with Plus and Max, which even include HBO. Then, AT&T plans expand from there, approaching cable selection and pricing with AT&T TV Now’s biggest packages. AT&T streaming also comes with Cloud DVR, letting you record up to 20 hours of TV per month. If you’re looking for TUDN, you’ll find it in the Optimo Mas or Ultimate plan, while CBS Sports Network is on Xtra or Ultimate. Galavision is available on five different plans; only Plus or Max leave you without it.

YouTube TV

The YouTube TV channel list includes local channels, sports options including ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, and NBA TV, and plenty to keep kids (and kids at heart) occupied, including Disney Channel and its companion channels, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network—all in one easy-to-access package. It even comes with a few Spanish-language channels like Telemundo and NBC Universo. YouTube add-ons include HBO Max, Showtime, and Starz. YouTube TV packages have some advantages over their competitors, including a generous DVR and multiple screens package. From one account, each user can create an individual profile to track favorite shows.

If you’re looking for CBS Sports Network, know that you can stream it on YouTube TV.

CBS All Access is the network’s official entry into the streaming arena, and set the tone for other major networks launching their own streaming services. (Looking at you, Peacock.) CBS All Access anchors itself in the vast CBS show library, going into TV history as well as relying on the Star Trek series and the crime dramas that help define it today. It also has a selection of movies tied to Paramount’s ownership by CBS parent Viacom. It’s also a destination for live events like the annual Grammy Awards, and it’s becoming a destination for live sports fans. Started in 1992—building from the European Champions Cup that only featured league winners from Europe’s prime soccer-playing nations—the UEFA Champions League features the top 32 European club teams. In June, UEFA holds play-in matches to select six slots; those teams, plus 26 pre-qualified teams, make up eight groups of four teams each, which play in a group stage, much like World Cup entrants do. That group play happens between September and December, with each team playing six matches total. (Matches are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to fit in between the weekend matches teams play in their respective leagues.)

From that field, the first and second place teams in each group advance to a 16-team knockout round that typically starts in February and goes through May; each round leading up to the final has two legs, with each team playing a home and away match to determine who advances and who goes home.

The final was supposed to be May 30 at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul; the Turks will now host in 2021 provided the world returns to normal.
