12. “My daughter goes to school in a wealthy district that was able to put together an extensive online school (in addition to an in-person option that requires masks). Thankfully, my daughter thrived when courses went online due to the COVID pandemic, so I opted for her to learn virtually.”
“I know these districts are doing everything they can, but our district is going to operate in person in a family model, which means that children do not have the option to leave the class, at all, including for meals. I do not want my daughter to think that school is only one room.
While I chose for my child to learn virtually, I know that many families do not have that option, due to lack of child care or their need to work in order to provide for their children. I’m concerned for my daughter, however, because she is one of four, and I have already seen how difficult it is to help her while keeping the younger three occupied and away from her. This is challenging for every family in a multitude of ways.”
