What She Really Wants This Valentine’s Day

Your girlfriend wants you to put effort into Valentine’s Day. Whether you set up a homemade meal for her or ordered her presents a month in advance, she wants proof that you care enough about her to make (and keep) plans. She wants to know you didn’t wait until the last second to throw something together for her, that you put actual time and energy into making the day special for her.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants to know you’re serious about her. She wants to know that you’re dedicated to making her happy, that you’re excited to do sweet things for her because there’s nothing you love seeing more than her smile. She wants to know that you’re as invested in this relationship as she is, that you’re on the same page.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants to feel special. She wants you to remind her how much you love her heart, mind, body, and soul. She wants reassurance that your feelings for her haven’t changed. She wants to hear the words I love you said aloud or scribbled in a card. And she wants to know you really mean it.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants you to be present. Whether she’s spending time with you in person or over a Zoom call, she wants your undivided attention. She doesn’t want you to get distracted by chores or friends. She wants you to put down your phone and pay attention to her. She wants to spend the holiday with you and only you.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants a chance to relax. She doesn’t want to feel pressured to do anything that makes her uncomfortable. She doesn’t want to think about anything going wrong with the world. She wants to spend time with her person and forget about her problems for a while. She wants to cuddle and joke around and really relax.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants to feel beautiful. She wants to be admired and showered in compliments because words can be more powerful than whatever presents you wrap. She wants to know she’s the only person you’re interested in seeing, that you haven’t changed your mind, that you’re just as crazy about her as the day when you first met.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants to spend one-on-one time with you. She wants to be alone. She doesn’t want to feel like a second choice or a last priority because you have better things to do. She doesn’t want to hear you complain about how this is a fake holiday that doesn’t really matter. She wants you to celebrate with her. And she doesn’t want it to feel like she’s pulling teeth. She wants you to do nice things because you want to do them, not because you’re obligated.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants to know you’re picturing a future together. She wants to know this relationship isn’t temporary. She wants to know that you’re intending to keep her in your world for a while.

This Valentine’s Day, your girlfriend wants to feel loved. She wants to feel like you really do care. TC mark
