What you need to know about AFPAC, the white nationalist alternative to CPAC

Anti-Muslim activist and failed Florida Republican congressional candidate Laura Loomer announced that she will be attending Nicholas Fuentes’ white nationalist America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC).

AFPAC is led by Fuentes and is intended to rival the more mainstream Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this coming weekend in Orlando, Florida.

“This weekend I’ll be in Orlando for AFPAC and various other events,” Loomer stated on Telegram on Thursday morning.

AFPAC, which is a far-right white nationalist and neo-Nazi gathering, seeks to be an alternative for those who don’t think CPAC is right-wing enough.

Among those currently attending AFPAC include far-right characters such as Michelle Malkin and former Rep. Steve King, who lost his primary after a number of racist statements.

Fuentes said on Wednesday night during a live stream that he plans to troll the CPAC gathering on Thursday.

CPAC, the more mainstream GOP conference, where former President Donald Trump is slated to speak on Sunday night, has barred Fuentes from their gathering and attempted to distance themselves from him.

Yet, this year, the conferences appear to have more overlap than CPAC may want, as the Daily Dot found at least one CPAC sponsor who plans on attending Fuentes’ white nationalist conference.

Look Ahead America tweeted they will be attending AFPAC on Friday evening. They are listed as a CPAC sponsor.

Fuentes’ followers, who call themselves “Groypers,” are also planning on infiltrating CPAC and have discussed making a scene at the conference.

Some have talked about growing mustaches to avoid detection.

CPAC didn’t return a request for comment from the Daily Dot about how they felt about their sponsors partaking in Fuentes’ gathering as well.
